Job Summary
The Teacher at the Early Child Development Center is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children. The Teacher will work closely with parents and other staff members to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Primary Job Duties
o Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children.
o Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
o Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
o Communicate with parents and guardians about their child's progress and needs.
o Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
o Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
o Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Education and Experience
o Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
o State certification in Early Childhood Education preferred
o Experience working with young children in an educational setting
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans
o Knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices
Knowledge
o Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
o Psychology: Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
Communication Skills
o Effectively communicate with young children using age-appropriate language, active listening, and nonverbal cues.
o Clearly convey information verbally and in writing to staff, parents, and children. This includes active listening, providing constructive feedback, and explaining policies or child progress sensitively.
o Build Partnerships with parents and guardians through clear updates on progress, concerns, and daily activities.
o Collaborate with colleagues and administrators.
Empathy and Emotional Intelligence
o Ability to recognize emotions, strengths, limitations, and triggers in real time.
o Manages emotions while maintaining composure and adapting to changing situations.
o Fosters a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere.
Complex Problem Solving Skills
o Identifying complex problems by reviewing data from observations, reports, parent input, and possibly specialists to identify root causes to develop, evaluate options, and implement solutions.

Job Summary
The Teacher's Assistant will support the lead teacher in the planning and implementation of daily educational activities for young children in an early childhood development/care center. This role involves assisting with classroom management, preparing materials, and engaging with children to foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. The Teacher's Assistant will also help ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
Primary Job Duties
○ Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities
○ Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment
○ Prepare and organize materials for daily activities
○ Engage with children in educational and play activities
○ Monitor children's behavior and ensure their safety
○ Communicate with parents and staff regarding children's progress and needs
Education and Experience
○ High School Diploma or equivalent required
○ Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
○ Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable
○ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
○ Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
○ Basic understanding of child development principles
Knowledge
○ Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices for teaching and caring for young children.
○ Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.
○ Understanding of child safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe learning environment
Communication Skills
o Verbal communication with children by using age-appropriate language, speaking clearly, and with a warm, enthusiastic tone to engage young learners.
o Nonverbal communication to demonstrate attentive body language by smiling, maintaining eye contact, and mirror children’s emotions to build rapport.
o Observe and interpret cues by reading children’s non-verbal signals to anticipate needs or identify discomfort early.
o Communicate effectively with Lead Teacher and co-workers by sharing observations about children’s progress or concerns promptly and professionally.
o Interact with parents and guardians by providing warm, brief updates during drop-off and pick-up.
o Handles sensitive topics tactfully by deferring to Lead Teacher while communicating empathy and reassurance.
